Erin NeSmith graduated from the University of South Florida in 2003 with a Bachelor of Arts in Interpersonal Communication and a minor in Music. She was a Re-Entry Counselor for Eckerd Youth Alternatives post graduation. She also taught public school for nine years focusing on at-risk populations, cultivating and overseeing college prep programs and was an on-site county appointed teacher at A Kid’s Place (a local foster care group home) for two years. She also spent some time in corporate management where she enjoyed focusing on the HR areas of employee relations issues and culture building among employees. Mrs. NeSmith has a strong desire to make a positive impact on at-risk youth through relationship building, coaching and mentoring to support them in reaching their full potential. She holds a Professional Coaching Certification as a Life Coach and has also become an Energy Leadership Index Master Practitioner. Mrs. NeSmith enjoys spending time with her husband and three children, reading professional development books, clowning (no, really!), singing and songwriting and participating in karaoke nights with friends.
Benjamin has spent his life working with people. He put his social science education degree to good use by teaching students of all ages, including those with special needs, for over a decade. He spent years as a recording and performing musician and is now a Certified Professional Coach and pastor. Benjamin is passionate about movies, hiking, interior design, spending time with family and partnering with people as they become the truest version of themselves.
Melody serves as Administrative Pastor of Element Church Tampa. She also co-owns and operates a production company, Echo Media Group, and a publishing company, Lost Poet Press. She is associate director of Circle A Ranch, a program which teaches teenagers principals of leadership, goal setting, and self worth. She is a wife, podcaster, vocalist, and mother of two. She is honored to serve on the GIYF board!
Celia Nicholson has worked with several urban ministries, holding roles ranging from volunteer coordinator to after school tutor to education program coordinator. She's excited to bring her background in race relations and urban poverty, as well as her passion for multi-ethnic collaboration, to Grow Into You Foundation. Celia has a BA in Religion from Transylvania University in Lexington, KY.
Martha Diaz has over 20 years of experience in accounting and administration in both manufacturing and construction industries. Her professional roles have included Assistant Controller for a food manufacturer and acting Controller for local construction companies. She also works part-time with a Financial Planning and Investment boutique where she works closely with clients to help with their administrative needs. Martha has a heart and passion for helping others in any way she can.
Theresa NeSmith taught music for several years before building a successful business as a natural light portrait photographer. She supports Grow Into You Foundation with annual fundraisers through her business, and is thrilled to now be a board member in hopes to continue raising support for teens in foster care.
